Nature is constantly rebuilding itself beneath our feet.

For artist Canman, that hidden process becomes visible through Mycelium Energy — a radiant mushroom sculpture inspired by fungal communication, energetic connection, and the unseen intelligence of mycelial networks. This vibrant sculptural work will be featured in the Medway Art Association’s “Rebirth & Renewal” Outdoor Spring Exhibit at Choate Park in Medway, Massachusetts, on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 4pm.

The Medway Art Association brings together local artists to celebrate creativity, community, and artistic expression through exhibits, education, and collaborative opportunities throughout the region.

Mycelium Energy: The Hidden Architecture of Life

Mycelium Energy transforms the familiar mushroom form into a glowing symbol of communication, transformation, and interconnected existence.

Inspired by underground fungal networks, the sculpture explores how mycelium silently transfers nutrients, signals stress, and creates symbiotic relationships throughout natural ecosystems. The repeating geometric forms across the mushroom cap evoke coded pathways, energetic frequencies, and biological circuitry, while flowing contour lines along the stem suggest movement, growth, and unseen currents traveling through living systems.

Rendered in electric greens, cyan blues, ultraviolet purples, and luminous pinks, the sculpture blurs the line between biology, sacred geometry, and futuristic symbolism.

The mushroom becomes more than an organism — it becomes an antenna.

A transmitter.

A visual metaphor for collective intelligence.

Rebirth & Renewal at Choate Park

The theme “Rebirth & Renewal” could not be more fitting for Mycelium Energy.

Spring represents regeneration, emergence, adaptation, and cycles of becoming. Mycelium itself embodies these ideas — continuously breaking down old matter to support new growth.

Set within the natural landscape of Choate Park in Medway, the outdoor exhibit creates a powerful dialogue between contemporary artwork and environment. Choate Park serves as one of Medway’s signature community spaces known for its scenic setting, walking areas, recreation, and public gathering spaces.

Outdoor exhibitions invite viewers to experience art differently — not isolated within gallery walls, but integrated into weather, light, landscape, and seasonal change.
