Canman Live Painting at CoSM
Canman will be one of the featured live painters during the 2026 Deities & Demons Masquerade Ball, joining Amanda Sage, Illuminated Rose, and Lacy Villandry.
For Canman, live painting creates a completely different relationship between the artist, the artwork, and the audience.
Instead of seeing a finished painting hanging on a wall, visitors get to watch the image develop layer by layer—from the initial marks and composition to the color, texture, details, and final vision.
The process is unpredictable, immediate, and completely alive.
And that's exactly what makes live painting so exciting.
Deities & Demons Masquerade Ball
The Deities & Demons Masquerade Ball is CoSM's October Full Moon Gathering, bringing together ceremony, music, art, fire, masquerade, and community for an immersive evening at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
The 2026 celebration begins with an October Full Moon Ceremony led by Alex Grey and Allyson Grey, followed by music, dancing, live art, fire performance, and masquerade throughout the CoSM grounds.
The official schedule currently lists:
12:00 PM — CoSM grounds open
3:00 PM — Event registration begins
6:30 PM — Great Hall opens for priority admission
6:45 PM — General admission seating opens
7:00–8:30 PM — October Full Moon Ceremony
8:45 PM–1:00 AM — Music, dancing & Masquerade Ball
1:00 AM — Event ends
Your ticket includes access to the CoSM grounds, Grey House, Entheon, the Full Moon Ceremony, live painting and performance, interactive art experiences, the bonfire, and community gathering.
What Is CoSM?
The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) is a nonprofit sanctuary and interfaith church located in the Hudson Valley of New York. CoSM is dedicated to visionary art, spiritual exploration, contemplation, and creative community.
At the heart of the grounds is Entheon, CoSM's chapel of visionary art and home to the Sacred Mirrors collection and other visionary works. The property also includes wooded grounds, art installations, the Wisdom Trail, Grey House, galleries, and the Mushroom Café.
CoSM was established around the idea that art can function as a spiritual path, creating a space where creativity, consciousness, community, and contemplation intersect.
